Fished the pier from 5pm-9pm during low tide. Apparently high tide is a better time to go. I caught a few small whiting using squid and blood worm fish bites. I also caught a 14.5" flounder on gulp minnows. I've fished Rudee three times this year and haven't gotten a bite from a flounder, but today I caught my first one of the season in the James River haha.

Thanks for the report. Last night I fished the outgoing at the Green Mile for a couple hours. Caught five croakers on squid. Got there as the tide was slowing. Better action was at the end of the pier...bring 3 to 4 oz. to hold. Alsp saw some medium size crabs.

I think I'll pay attention to tides more and go on the incoming. That seems to work well for most piers in this area.
