IRI tog fishing

Fished 6am to 4pm Sunday.
No keeper but had fun, 2 ten inches 2 thirteen inches and missed one by a 1/4 inch a 14 and 3/4 inch.

Thanks for the report. What were you using for bait? My experience is that whole green crabs catch the bigger tog.

I was using green crabs and sand fleas.
All caught on fleas, not a nibble on crabs.
I had about 30 taps soon as the flea hit the bottom.
I don't know what it was, a tap and the fleas were gone, maybe small sea bass.

I can see sand fleas out fishing squid & clams for tog but have never seen them out fish green crabs.

That is a lot of Hrs. fishing in this hot weather. Didn't the heat bother you? How did you keep cool.

From there I went to CHSP pier and stayed there till 8PM. caught a baby flounder 10".
I work 65 hrs a week, only day off is Sunday, so I try to make the most of my outings.
It wasn't that bad by the water, I wear L/S shirt for UV protection.

Yes, my #1 choice is green crabs #2 shrimp #3 fleas. That day was different.

Did you see anyone catching fish? I heard spot and croaker were there.

Small sea bass and togs. No croakers but caught a few 5" croakers at CHSP pier a week before.
