Drove down to IRI at 3am on Wed. Got there
at about 5:30 am. Went to old inlet bait
and tackle to get some green crabs for taug.
NONE AVAILABLE. The older guy who works there is very rude. Everybody else was super nice. P.S. Do not buy the clam snouts
for Taug. Drive the extra distance and buy
crabs or sand fleas. Fished till 2 pm. Only saw one keeper taug kept, and that was
borderline at best. Did not see one taug, striper or even bluefish caught. I should point out that I missed the incoming tide because I had to leave and that is when the action usually heats up.

I have had the same experience in there and avoid stopping except in an absolute emergency. There are bait shops relatively close by where they are glad to have your business. I'd rather burn some gas and even pay a little more (unlikely) than give my money to someone who treats me like I'm bothering him. Granpa
