Happy New Year!!!

The recent warm weather has prompted a few to try wetting a line. The results have been mixed. The Indian River Inlet and the offshore wrecks have been the only productive spots.

A couple of striped bass have been reported as have a few tautog in the Inlet. Red and white bucktails have been working on the incoming tide for the stripers. The largest we have heard about is 10-12 pounds.

Tautog fishing is really starting to taper off in the inlet. The water is too cold. The best fishing has been found on the Barge and the Sub about 5 miles off the beach. The fish are migrating to deeper warmer water.

The bad news is that we no longer have any live bait for tautog. The best we can do is frozen green crabs and the small bags of frozen fleas.
