My Best times fishing site has 4 star/ excellent fishing almost all week and i have not caught many fish. One here and there. A couple crappie and a few yellow perch. Not even worth a report or picture. I don't even know why I check Best Fishing Times. No matter what it says, I'm going fishing. The old saying is, That's why it is called fishing, not catching. Any Day/morning now.
I'm in a bad slump 12-30-16

Andy, my father used to tell me the "fish don't read". :redface:
He poked a bit of fun at me, as I used to read all the magazines & pay attention to the Solunar tables and Farmers Almanac, and anything else I could read about fishing or hunting. Sometimes I did good, even when the tables said it wasn't the best time, and sometimes not so good, even when the tables said it was prime time to go. That's fishing!
Dad didn't always catch fish either, and at a point in my life growing up I started to catch way more than he did, but still there was times I couldn't catch a cold!
I stopped reading all that stuff & like you, still went fishing anyway as long as the weather allowed & was safe to go. I go whenever I feel like it now and the fish still don't read & I still only catch them some of the time. :fishing:

No idea if I did or didn't. Never paid attention. Paid most attention to the wind and fronts. I also watch the moon. Full moon usually =don't waste your time.
Edit: just looked and it says the week of thanksgiving was poor, 1 fish eating some days. That was prolly the best solid week of fishing NJ saw this fall.
I think I read it just for something to do. I think I know what does turn the fish on. When the birds start flying, and little land animals start to move around. I notice through the years the fish started biting. That did seem to work. Now just tides and water Temps. for me. How about we list some of the things we heard that the fishing will be good, like when the dogwoods bloom. When the cows are all standing. LOL! I agree with the full moon. I don't like full moon.

Yep, it is a winter pan fishing pill. Keeps you going. It comes in a can. Happy New Year!!Isn't there a pill for this.
