I tried to fish this morning. It was too cold and windy for me. I sat in the truck most of the time. But I did catch one bluegill and one 2 1/2 LB. bass

What were you using for bait. And can you recommend some baits for Bass.

The reason I ask is I have never fished solely for Bass; since we moved last year there are 3 small ponds behind my house within walking distance.

I have heard there are Bass in them.

The bass I catch now, in winter are by-catch. I am not fishing for bass. I am fishing for pan fish like crappie, yellow perch, and bluegill. Bass and pickerel are all by-catch for me right now. I do fish for bass a lot when the time is right. Here is some good lures for you to use to catch bass.

My best lures are a 7" purple worm, and buzz baits, but don't have pictures of them.
