I came to the gentlemen who can help

I need some advise on a good rod that will give me the ability to throw 3 to 4 oz lures-spoons in the surf . Must not be to big and to heavy , but be able to with stand the punishment I will subject it to . Gotta go use those gift cards tommorow . Any suggestions or past encounters with this animal I am looking for would be greatly appreciated . Thanks in advance .

3 to 4 ounce lures in the surf...

I wouldn't go longer than a 10' rod. Might want to look into the Tica's (hybrid graphite) that handle that range (1-4) or go and spend the money on a 10' Lamiglas (true graphite) rod. Don't go longer as you have to hold the rod and cast and the weight of the rod is critical. I would go with the true graphite rods - those hybrid mixes (graphite/glass) can get a little heavy..

Lure Rod

Batson/Rainshadow # 1088 for 2 to 4 oz, the # 1087 for 1 to 3 oz. Nuff said.

I have a 9' too..

The 9' Tica graphits spinners will throw 1/2-3 oz and you can get them off the e-site for less than $50.
