I'm sitting here watching the weather channel, reading the weather online and trying to decide what days I'd like to fish this upcoming weekend. Their prayers have been answered... The First storm of the year is making LANDFALL...

Ya ever watch the idiot weather people on TV during a weather event such as this approaching storm doing stupid things? I often wonder when the day will be when one will get impaled by a 2x4 because their idiot butts were out there. Or one to get swept out to sea by a rouge wave.. That'll teach em!

Snow and ice are another story...

I hope Jim Cantore stays away from the OBX .. I remember for two Labor Day weekends in a row he told folks to stay away from the OBX and we never saw a drop of rain or a puff of wind to keep a Touron away. They stayed home anyway. Was it 2012/13 or 2011/12 ? The answer escapes me at this moment . All I know is he cheated a lot of locals out of their last big weekend of tourism of the year. TWICE!

it's going to be soundside and that is never good
This is true.
Ocracoke gets the evac order fast because as the sound rises the ferrries cannot dock anymore. Then the cars all have to go up Hatteras on 12 that will flood north of buxton, north of avon at the old S curves and south of the bonner. Sound side flooding can be much worse than a hurricane.

Surely you know that a forecast is nothing more than a prediction, and that it usually includes an estimate of what the conditions might be.
Which would you rather - a prediction of good weather and we go out and get impaled by something, or a prediction of bad weather, and we stay comfortable at home while the sun shines? The latter perhaps turning into bad weather that they go out in, and get impaled while trying to save our azzes from what just might be the worst of conditions.
Going out in it, in my opinion, is their way of sensationalizing the reporting, and I have no sympathy over any bad consequences for the risks they take.

And..he, (Chris warren), did this multiple times as they switched back and forth from him and craptore. It was comical at best. Did you miss the part where he went over and grabbed a few blades of grass..out of the ground?

That was right before the part where he sowed the water puddling up, you could plainly see that there was a slight low spot where he was standing....

Crap like that is what motivated me to make this post...
