Does anybody out there know how long it takes for the water to clear up after a huge amount of rainfall? The Brunswick County surf remains the color of tea and not many fish are being caught on the beaches. (other than a few blues) I'm new to the area and was just getting into some huge drum in the surf until the storm hit. Any information will be helpful.....Thanks!! Jeff (ps meanwhile, I'm actually thinking about golfing for a few more days...LOL)

I think it will take a couple of weeks provided we don't have any more storms. I saw a few flounder and trout caught this weekend but things should pick back up when the water clears. Still lots of finger mullet in the surf.

Probably by sunday or monday. Rivers are at flood stage or near it, pulling water out of the swamps and emptying into cape fear. To much fresh water right now. Color dont matter as much as salt content. Still lots of good fishing ahead,

The fish are there. I fished Oak Island the 9th and 10th and caught two large Red drum, plenty of blues and Pompano and one keeper flounder.I surf fished the middle of the Island. The Drum and Blues were caught on live Mullet and the rest on frozen Shrimp. The Drum were caught on the first three hrs. of the outgoing tide. Leaving tonight for some more Surf fishing at Oak Island.
