How far can you guys cast those big Hatteras heavers? Going back in the search feature it seems like you guys are the big hitters. Fspecially that ADAM guy! Man O Man that big Drum he caught is all over the web! Hopefully one day I'll be able to throw like ya'll!!!!!!!!

There are some guys that come in near the 400 foot range under good conditions. 225 feet(75yds) is a good cast under fishing conditions(wind in face surf pounding, etc).

Yeah like Digger said when you have a head wind and a big ol' bait that starts helicopterin and all that other stuff that comes into effect 75 yds is a good cast anything more is real good but you gotta remember not all fish are caught 100 somethin yards out alot of them are caught within the 75 yards or closer. Ive seen some of the biggest pompano ive ever seen come right up on the beach chasin sand fleas when a wave breaks. But i dont do too much surf fishin im more of a plank caster.- Bassboy
