Hay guys, a friend of a friend arranged for me to go to the Hot Ditch [Southern Branch] this afternoon. We caught about 50 Puppy Drum but only 2 keepers [over 18"]. Most were 14-17". Saw a real oddball fish caught. A puppy drum without a tail. No joke! Apparently he had his tail cut off sometime in the past and it was completely healed. The fish was healthy and pretty safe because he will have to grow another 4" just to meet minimums. Had a ball

Advisor,

Glad to hear that the fish are
still biting despite the nippy
weather. Were you fishing by
boat? Using bait or lures? Thanks!

We were at the head of the ditch by the power Co. Using mostly shrimp or minnows. I did see a couple caught on curley tail jigs. They were biting as fast as you could get a hook in the water; but, I think the biguns were waiting for all the smallies to feed first. By the way, You don't feel the cold half as much as when you're not catching anything.
