Will be at the north end of Rehoboth again for a week mid September, the weekend after Labor Day, I believe it is the 10th.

What should I expect to find in the surf at that time, and what should I expect them to eat, and what kinds of rigs should I be using?

I expect I'll be able to catch blues on topwater, I read somthing about live spot for trout? What kind of s rig should I fish that on? Fish finder style?

Would love any and all advice/suggestions. Again, I'll be traveling with family so a whole lot of travel/beach driving won't work out. Staying at the very south of the no swimming/fishing only section of the beach.

Just check in with the local bait/tackle shops. I'd start with Old Inlet Bait & Tackle at IRI.
One of my first and favorite stops. Are you a local?

I was just wanting to know if there are any lures I should be buying, rigs I should be tying, etc. With a 10 month old I don't get to fish as much as I would like to, so I satisfy my cravings through tackle organization, restringing rods, shopping, and online discussion.

Casting or spinning, and does it matter?
Jim unless you're experienced with a casting outfit I stick to spinning. There's a definite learning curve to be somewhat proficient with a casting reel. If I'm jigging I prefer a casting outfit because to me it's more sensitive in detecting strikes which can be very subtle. Perhaps you should follow what kurazy kracka said. Untangling a birds nest can be quite frustrating.

I've been fishing freshwater with casting reels for 10+ years. When I designed my surf Rod and bought a reel, I designed it spinning because that is all I have ever seen and didn't think of doing it any other way.

Catman, or anyone else,,,, is there anyone here who frequents Old Inlet?

I was just wondering if the large African American gentleman who sits on the stool on the right side of the front counter ever leaves the store????? Literally EVERY time I have been in that shop over the last 3-4 years, he has been there, in that same spot, on that same stool. Lol
