I need help catching Croaker fish!! I want to take my kids fishing in my boat and I want to target Croakers. I hear they are easy to catch, I just don't know the best way to go about it. I need to know how DEEP of water they like and what kind of COVER (bridge pilling, shell or sand bottom, rocks etc. )that they like best. What is the best size hook to use and whats the best bait?? I live in Georgia, I can fish in either saltwater rivers or sound. Thanks, Jim

Try not to catch croaker and you'll catch them. Through the lack of effort, you shall succeed. It is the zen of fishing young grasshopper. :D

Try using double fishfinder rigs with small circle or j-hooks. For bait you will want cut shrimp or squid, small pieces. Best place to catch them is around jetties and in tidal creeks. If you come down this way, let me know. I work in a tackle shop now, so I can set you up with whatever you might need.
