Bass Pro Shops acquiring Cabela's for $5.5B

I hate to see this. I am a big fan of Cabelas outoor clothing. My biggest complaint is Bass Pro doesnt carry tall sizes.

I think this has been in the works for a while. Several years ago they were supposed to build a bass pro near me. There is a cabelas about 45 minutes away. Suddenly the bass pro deal just stopped right as the land was being graded and cleared. Then rumors were that a huge sale was going to happen at cabelas because bass pro was buying it so everything branded cabelas had to go. Then nothing has happened for quite some time...like 2 or 3 years now.

Wow,recently they just built a Basspro in Bristol, Tn and about 5 miles away they built a Cabelas in Bristol,Va. Close competition.

Bass Pro does not have the sales that Cabela's always has. I only shop BP when I have too... Really hate to see Cabelas go...

I agree with Sandcrab Cabelas has better sales. A greater variety of hunting and camping supplies than BP. At least the one in my area does. My nephew worked at the location in Charlotte he told me it was going down. Just did not want to believe him.
