Has anyone replaced the standard treble hook on a Hopkins Shorty with a circle hook? Is there any reason it wouldn't work? Thanks!

I've thought about this too; I don't see why it wouldn't be fine. The only thing I could think of would be the effect of the lures presentation and that's what stops me,... yet intrigues me to do so. I've got a rusty Po-Jee that's getting a circle hook on it now, we'll see...

i would think that the design of the hook would be pulled outta the mouth, reason you dont set the hook....dunno just my thoughts on it.
