im planning a trip around April 10 down towards Willoughby or somewhere. Im gonna fish for trout and blues. Two questions:
1) What time do the trout usually arrive and
2) A good hotel to stay at.

Depends on the water temps. But they can get there in mid March. Hotel?? There are some on the spit, I just have never used any there.

id check the archived reports...i know i posted some good grey trout reports last year

I would keep an eye on the reports and drive the extra 2 1/2 hrs. to Hatteras if conditions warrent. I have caught plenty of specs and pups that time of year. Big drum also start to show around then if you can catch a couple days of a stiff SW wind.
