I have an old Garmin GPS76 which is marine, waterproof and small. It's perfect for marking fishing spots for me but it doesn't have a touch screen and the LCD is small as well. You might want to look at one of the Garmin Striker units. They are both GPS and fish finder combo units. They start at around $100. And go up from there.

Good luck!

A Google search provides the following.

How can I find a location using GPS coordinates in iPhone Maps?

To look up a specific location using your iPhone, only the latitude and longitude coordinates are needed. If you don't have an address for a place, you can enter the GPS coordinates directly into the Maps location and the location will be displayed.

1. Open the Maps app.
2. Tap Search at the bottom of the screen.
3. Enter the latitude and longitude coordinates in the search bar.
4. Coordinates can be in decimal degree format or degrees, minutes, seconds.

Here are examples of properly formatted coordinates:

44 35′25″n 104 42′55″w
or
44.5903 -104.7153

I have an garmin car GPS that I use. It was a feature to save by co-ordinates. Since I use my phone as GPS in my car the Garmin wasn't being used anymore. As Kracka said things change pretty quick so I mainly use it to scout beaches at low-tide for fishing at high-tide etc.

I use old slats from wooden snow fences. Put 'em where they don't get in anybody's way. Nobody notices or bothers them. Spot on accurate, and no batteries to keep charged. Can use in any weather, and they store nicely in box with rod holders. Really cheap too!

GPS is great for getting you close, may be 100yds or so. It has been my experience that a beach marker of some kind is best. Besides the beach changes so fast a cut in the bar now may be gone on the nest tide cycle. I use my odometer and visual markers.
