I just called the pier around 30 minutes ago (tel# 757-428-2333) and the lady that I was able to talk with said that they have re-opened the pier after putting up some railings on the end. Only about 20 feet or so at the end was damaged according to her.

The other good news is she said that the fishing has been very good since Sunday and that the yellow bellies and the specks are running. They are catching everything except flounder so there must be some blues and puppies there too. They are open for 24 hrs/day so they must have electricity already.

How much does it cost to park over there?

I'm off on Friday--I'll be there bright and early. Watch out yellow bellies here I come

Oh- the parking is 2 dollars if you tell the attendant you are fishing, but I dont believe the beach is charging anymore for the meters after Labor Day. ( I may be wrong)
