Managed to fish for about two hours today (11:30am to 1:30pm). I would've stuck it out, but it was just too hot for the wife. Tried bunches of different lures and some different types of Gulp on jigs. Only thing that managed to produce anything was the beetle spin. They're quickly becoming my go to lure. They seem to work just as well in both fresh and saltwater.

Caught 4 keeper perch and another little gorgeous red drum (see the picture below). This one had two spots. I'm hoping they keep increasing until I manage to hook into one with 9. That would be amazing.

Pretty fish. Years ago we were catching those pups inside the Key bridge. If the weather remains dry and hot we may see them by the end of summer.:fishing:

My wife got a 16" one off that same pier last year. They seem to really like the oyster bars.
