Hit Garrisons Lake at sunrise on Saturday. I no sooner launched the jonboat when the rain came in. It lasted only a couple of minutes but the humidity really picked up.

Tried topwater plugs, spinnerbaits, Senko's for the first hour or so with no hits. Since they wouldn't come out to play I decided to go into the spatterdock and get them out! Rigged up a baitcasting setup with 50 lb braid, 3/4 oz tungsten weight, 4/0 straight shank hooks, and 4" plastics (Havoc Pit boss worked best) to go in after them. After a hundred or so pitches, I finally yanked 3 nice bass out of their hiding places before noon! Two bass were just about 3 lbs and one went almost 4 1/2 lbs. Took a lot of pitching though!

Always good to get out and refine my pitching techniques. Next time I fish there I will bring my "Gorilla" setup (8' rod, 65 lb braid)!
