I got into town on Wednesday (5/11) and was fishing on Thursday about a 3/4 mile north of the pier. I picked up supplies at Perry's and Harrelson's (fresh mullet and shrimp). I found I had better luck with the mullet over the shrimp. Over the past 3 days, haven't caught anything to keep, but enough to keep it interesting. Small sharks, 8-10 inch blues, whiting, and a 10 inch speck. I was able to dig up some sand fleas but didn't have any luck. I did have two really good pulls, one of which starting stripping line and after about a minute, broke off. Like the one perfect golf shot, it keeps you coming back for more. Thought I'd head down to the North Jetty and try things out there. The sunrises sure do make for a start of wonderful day.
