"In any case, the NHC is showing Isabel passing just to the east of Cape Hatteras in about five days. After that time- it looks like the hurricane will run right into the coast of Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey. Any further shift to the east would threaten Long Island. Keep in mind this is still 120 hours away. A lot can change in that time period. We now have these five day forecasts- but remember back just last year when the forecast ONLY went out to three days? Those forecasts were hard enough to keep on track- five days is even tougher. Bottom line tonight: the Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic need to make sure they know where Isabel is headed come Monday morning. At that time, it will be time to get ready for a hurricane somewhere."
