i grew up using minnow and squid in jersey. last year i did well on just minnow. i have read about people doing well on clam?? i was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on this maybe tried it or knows someone that had. i though flounder were action feeders. any pointers would be appreciated!

help a guy starving for the flatties!!

I also grew up fishing in Jersey although we used "minnies" exclusively. Since I've gotten worldly and learned about other methods of catching flounder, I've had luck with just about any bait that you cut into a strip. Mullet, spot, bluefish, even shrimp, if they're large enough to cut into strips. I don't recall using clams but if you have them big enough to be able to cut a strip about 2" or so, I bet it would work fine. In fact, I think that I'll try it next chance I get. Good luck Granpa
