This is one more reason to give pause when considering whether you should go fishing at the CHNSRA in the spring or just wait until fall. ORVers already have to deal with loss of beach access due to excessively large bird enclosures, bankers hours when accessing those beaches remaining open to them and erosion on whatever beaches left to drive on in general. That being said, for better or worse I'm still probably going.

Everybody take a chill pill. I walked it yesterday and its dry all the way to 43s parking lot. Did not walk over the first hump of 44 Ramp or see condition of dunal Rd. to 45Campground looks dry as well. All of the trapped pond water has been receding to normal heights? depths? in this last warm spell. Cape Point is back In business until they close it Come get your fish on right now

You should have walked over the hill inter-dune road is under water to ramp 45 and is blocked off. The ponds aren't even close to normal heights and 44 is a mud hole with 6-8 inches of water. I would have driven through but it is mud. Campground has half of each pad under water. You can drive 43 to the point at low tide but you need to be really aired down and it is a 30 degree incline
