I have an old vintage rod that is in nice condition.
What would I need to do, and use to put a nice glossy finish coat on the entire rod ?
Flexible too, so I can actually fish with it.
I watched tutorials where they are brushing, flaming epoxy over the wraps, but imagine there is a spray technique to "paint" the entire assembly ?

Are you talking about re-coating a blank here?
Or are you talking about trying to spray a finished rod?

spray it with clear laquer from a spry can. tape off the eyes and whatever else you don't want sprayed. it will look brand new

Flexible enough to actually use ? without cracking off ?

any finish over time even the epoxy coatings will crack but i've never had any issues with the clear lacquer

I refinished a rod with Gorilla Glue clear. Wipe on, wipe off in small sections to leave a very thin coat.
