If you guys are like me when pier fishing, you're always wondering where are the fish, what does the bottom look like, and where is the drop off. I just came across this Humminbird SmartCast for $147.00. Looks promising. What do you guys think? web page.

catman it'll come in handy at the Tank, you can find all your channels. But I would fine out if it's for salt water to and the warranty before I'd buy it. :(

I think I'll pass on it and spend the $147.00 on steamed crabs and cold Bud long necks. :D

It looks and sounds promising, but I would wait for them to come out with second or third genaration it seems with electronics it takes that long for them to fix all that wrong with the first year model and by then you'll be able to get it for half the price.

Cocoflea...Nice to see you down on our boards again, been awhile. Sounds like good advise to wait a see what bugs develope. I think it has potential especially for reservoir fishing.
