Aloha everyone, recently me and some friends have started producing videos in which we are trying to reach out to fishermen, particularly here in Hawaii, through the form of entertainment to promote fishing practices that are sustainable and responsible to our fisheries. Additionally we have been trying to teach those who are not from Hawaii a bit about our home and some of the rich history that goes along with it.

As we are mainly all fishers here, I wanted to ask your help in gathering some feedback about our videos, and if these themes seem to be making it though to the general fisher viewer.

As soon as I read the word "sustainable", my "Liberal Alert" went off . . .
Shaka please excuse Dave ... He is our Villiage Idiot...

I'm sure you have a few where you are.

.The closest Dave comes to live salt water fishing is in the Frozen Section at the Grocery Store ... Think Gordon's Fish Sticks

Offshore fishing is very similar to ours, however shore based is very different

Whats the hawaiian fishing community's take on the new maine sanctuary that has been created?

Super mixed, anywhere from it is awesome, to it is terrible, to why is America controlling waters not theirs in the first place. I am not sure if there is a general consensus, but I would guess the majority are leaning towards it is a good thing.

Thank you, and yes we have quite a few like minded people out here as well.

What is the shore line fishing like over your way?

I have been thinking about N Kohala and fishing from both a boat and from the land.

Stay safe with the coming Storm.

Basically what the expanded monument has done is taken our locally harvested fish away from us and allow foreign fishing vessels, who aren't subjected to our rules, to run rampant in those waters. Now we will have to pay more for frozen fish instead of eating fresh fish.

And none of this is science based.
