The last few summers my ears have been getting cooked. Don't know why it happens now and only my ears burn. Does a mask work better than that greasy, scented sunscreen? Do they get hot? I already look funny enough and don't need to look any funnier...... Although the mask might be an improvement

Tried them once, couldn't get use to them, too hot, too confining, Now good sunscreen . Got some wide brim hats but I'm not a big fan of them either
I was thinking that too. I'm glad I passed on em. It would have eventually turned into a 28$ eel grip.

There is functionality, and then there's fugly. I don't think you would catch me in one of these.

My bad dude. I think his name is jollymAn anyways. I'm not a member on there but I read it . Lots of James River info. Sorry about that. I didn't even want a facemask, my ole lady was pushing it when we were rod shopping. She's into stupid stuff like that. Thought I could swing it at work and fishing but it's hot enough down here. Don't need that

Hey!!l those hats were a cool trend in the 80s. Around 85-86 I had one i wore with my aviator style glasses while riding my BMX around the neighborhood.
You should use at the Pier this summer , You know what they say "Whats old is New again" in the world of fashion. With you in that and Kenny in his hat you'll keep the tourists off the end, you'll need the aviator shades to complete the look

Columbia has a good fitting hat and on amazon there is a few different styles. I hate putting sunscreen on in the summer just to have it run into my eyes when sweating, plus if your wearing polarized glasses the sides of the hat help with the glare. I have a few buffs and only pull them out on extreme conditions (more for the wind and bugs than sun). I've seen adds pop up on YouTube fishing videos pretty cheap, the ones at BPS are around $20

On a serious note - if you ever have to deal with skin cancer (or maybe you already have) you won't think you look funny, feel greasy, or smell like sunscreen, no matter which protection(s) you go for. After your first visit to a derm doc (again, maybe you already have) you'll learn to leave any vanity at the front door.

True that. My ole lady got a piece of her shoulder/arm cut out a few years ago. Nasty scar....The sun down here is intense.
