You know them small fish that look like Tautog but are called Bergals.Are they eatible?Do they taste like a Tog does?Any info is helpfull.;)

Not sure. I've never really seen anyone keep any before, although the ones I've seen caught were tiny. I guess if they were big enough they should be good to eat. Let us know if you try any.

From what I've been told the fish has way too many bones to be worth eating at the small size if you ever catch a large one they are good table fare.

Ever seen ocean perch in the fish store? There is yer choggy, cunner, bergal, or whatever you want to call it. They are closely related to our favorite member of the beloved wrasse family the tautog. Sweat white meat from what I hear, but I have never eaten them. I see more people keeping them each year aboar northern NJ party boats each year. The same goes for robbins. I may try a few this season. They are supposed to be quite good.
