While at Cabelas this weekend, wife got my early Christmas gift.

A St. Croix Mojo Surf Spinning rod 11 ft. Thinking of adding a Battle II 6000 to it, is this too little or too much reel? Will mainly be throwing 'soaker' bait for whatever is biting.

I have the Battle II 6000 set up on a Penn Prevail 10" and like the feel of it. Fished it at Hatteras with soaker bait. Didn't catch anything but I was using 4oz spider weights and it pulled them loose pretty good.
