Last summer we were catching flounder as far north as Millers Island but then again there were a lot of different fish that far north that we don't normally see. The drought changed everything then. Don't think we'll see anything like it this summer.
Sandcrab,There are fluke at sandypoint every year from july to september, some years are better then others. As the name infers, the bottom is all sand. You will see some clam line markers.Start your drift there, straight out from swimming area.On the other side of bay south of matapeake is a huge sandbar known as brickhousebar. The fluke arrive here same time, but better numbers.Try it out.
Do you think I could use my 14' jonboat with my saltwater trolling motor (55 lbs thrust), launch it from the SPSP small boat ramp, and drift this area? I have a two batteries so running out of power would not be a problem. I see kayakers out there all the time...
