Hi,
I took my first trips out to Downs Park the last two weekends and came up skunked. Anyone fished there before and have any tips? I think for the 5 hours we were fishing there were probably 10-15 guys each with 2 lines in. No one was having any luck. I just don't how productive that spot tends to be. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the feedback. You've just reinforced my suspicions. We love going there with the kids and the trails are great with the bikes. This was just my first few times without the family and had a chance to spend some serious time fishing. It's a shame. I had the same experience at Ft. Smallwood Park before the pier was closed down (open now) and you would hope to have some better results with all the money and resources spent.

We'll keep going with the kids, but I'll probably leave the gear at home. Thanks again.

If the kids enjoy fishing take the gear. if they catch something that's a bonus. The important thing is the quality time spent. When they're grown I guarantee they'll remember fishing with dad whether they caught something or not. Been there, done that - wish they were still little kids to do it again.

Don't give up on Smallwood. It can be productive there. Downs Park....not so much.
