Went down to Ocean City on Monday and fished the oceanic pier. Not much going on there, other than the horseshoe crabs. Everyone and their mother caught at least a half dozen. Fished there from 0930-1200 and moved my way up the beach to IRI. Seen a nice tog pulled from the rocks, he said it was 17 inches, so I tried my hand with the toggin'. Caught several shorties, but nothing for the frying pan. Switched to bucktails and didn't get a bite, however there were a few nice blues being caught (around 24 inches). The wind started to pick up, so I went to finish off my day at Cape Henlopen. The horseshoe crabs are all over, so my luck was minimal. Lost a nice bluefish and caught several skate. Maybe fishing will pick up after a few more warmer days.

Did you happen to notice if other were getting a Croakers? If the shoe crabs are in it wont be long... The Spots, Croakers and Weakies should be biting soon if not all ready... I know that at night on the peir can be a wonderful thing!

WOW! stinkypinky

With this very slow warm up along with all this rain... It’s been very ruff on all of us. For while I could not get out because of house stuff. I was okay with the slow rainy warm up. Now I have the time and it's still like this for soon to be 3 months strong. Anyway I wish you better luck on your next trip.:D

I went to Roosevelt Inlet at 6am caught 6 Flounder;one was a 19" keeper.Left there at 10am to go to Cape Henlopen caught one small Flounder and a 18-19" Striper ;while my friend caught 2 Blues.Blues were caught on Mullet,Flounder on minnow/squid,and the Striper was caught on mullet strip/minnow.I heard the first of the Spot were caught at Cape Henlopen along with Croakers.Haven't seen any Trout, but one guy earlier hooked a 22" Weakie at the pier on Peelers. The weather was wet but the sun came out when we left at 1pm.We were soaked but dried off later.

Fished the South end of 3 R's Wednesday afternoon 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Caught one blue, 19" , 2 skates and lost a drum in the suds.
Fresh cut spot was the bait. I had some frozen vacuum wrapped bunker left over from Memorial day....if it's not fresh throw it away...not a bite on it.

Burton's Island was unproductive, except for an occasional horseshoe crab.
