Is there a decent push button reel? ...or is there a least crappy push button reel? My 5 year loves hitting the saltwater creeks with me, wants to do every part himself, and just was wondering if any of them are worth a damn. Thanks.

If he is 5 and a big boy now, I would get him a mid- upper grade Zebco. Also that would be a god reel to show maint on.

Daiwa Goldcast is pretty tough. Can be found cheap on the used market. I was gathering those and old made in USA zebcos for my boy, and the Goldcasts are good enough that I use them occasionally. My son struggled casting a spincast accurately, but had no problem with spinning. Took about 5 minutes of practice and he was all set......he had just turned 5. Spincasts are now on loaner rods, until little brother is old enough to go.
