I was looking for a new compact knot to tie a small hook onto 30lb mono bottom rigs. I came upon the Davy Knot which seems to be used only in Fly Fishing circles. Anyway, I tried tying several and pulling on them for slippage and it seems to work well. Probably the fastest and easiet knot ever.

Anyone use this one?

I snell all of mine (from that bible thread here) because it helps to keep the hook oriented perfectly for Kahles and circle hooks. If I need a straight flowing knot this one looks great though.
Maybe I will try some of these on the trebles of my quick strike bluefish rigs? Looks almost as easy as crimping.

I used it all last year on all of my small hooks on my FM rigs for Pomps and Mullet and it worked great.
Did not have one single one fail.
Super easy to tie, and if you are looking for a knot that allows for the hook to rotate as the fish takes the bait, it seems like a good choice to me.

i know many people use it including FM himself, the data i have seen suggests it breaks significantly below test though? from a fly standpoint it is easier to tie with 7x tippet..but i want my 7x tippet to break at as close to 100% of test as possible.
