Fished from sunrise through low tide - got one nice whiting on a tandem jig rig - then a large school of menhaden/bunker showed up and had a mini small bluefish blitz associated with it - stayed within casting distance for the better part of an hour before pushing off.

Caught seven or eight 12-14inch bluefish - lost about the same amout - those small bluefish are quite aerobatic and love to spit the hook right before the beach. Used a 1.5 ounce pink Clark spoon - it's a little thinner and flashier - am sure most anything would have worked - have never known blues to be that picky like Spanish seem to be sometimes; did not see any Spanish.

Some Dolphin associated with the school and a couple large predatory birds/?Osprey (don't know my birds that well) taking turns carting off the bluefish.

Beautiful morning - blessing to be out there.

Great report, I was out there with you, further down the beach and managed two good size whiting before I pulled chocks at around 7am.
