T H A N K S ! ! ! I appreciate all the hard work and hospitality bestowed upon the Texas casters. It has been a while since I attended the Nationals and many faces have changed. BUT the fellowship and sportsmanship just keeps getting better. It was so wonderful to see the old faces of years gone by and put new faces with names from the board.
I had a great time (as all us Texans did) and enjoyed the competition. It seemd the seat at the top is on very shaky ground with all the new talent trying to rock it!.
I feel very fortunate about winning this year. (God shed his grace on me for another year) The next few years should be very interesting. Hard work and dedication is going to keep raising the bar.
When I started there was only a few casters over the 700 foot mark, now 14 (?) casters past the magic mark in one day. And multiple times for each one!! AWESOME !
Not to slight anyone but I have seen Rolland, Mark and Ryan cast a few years back, you guys did an awesome job. Y'all have really got it together. HIP HIP HOORAY !!!
And this wouldn't be complete with out aknowledging Jerry, an old man (HA HA) casting better now than he did ten years ago. WAY to GO Jerry.

lou, i was stunned when i walked into that restaurant on friday and saw you guys for the first time in several years. it did this old heart good. if i don't get to many more ,it sure has been a pleasure to know you all . see you all soon. billr, the ol f--t.

It was indeed great to meet you. We had emailed back and forth multiple times. I had many questions concerning rods and technique (some things don't change huh??? ) and you answered every one in detail.

Thanks for making the trip, it was GREAT to compete against the best. You, Jerry and the whole Texas gang are a class act and an asset to the sport of distance casting.

Hope you can make it back in Oct.
