[Wrong Way]

Is metapeake a good pier to go crabbing from? I was looking at pics of the pier and read the summary stating how shallow the water was and wondered if crabbing was done there? If the pier isn't that high off the water surface, it wouldn't be such a bad idea I think.

Pretty much, all who crab there use crab traps. not hand lines.

I would not do it. I rarely see people crabbing. And when I do, I rarely see them catching anything. This is not one of the popuilar crabbing area..

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. Seems that crabbing is not often practiced there. I may bring a crab pot just to test my luck while fishing there sometime since stripers like crabs so much
