Imo no. It would be alot of work you have to spin the reel seat 180 deg. Or the spline of the rod would be backward . So you would have to take every thing off the blank and start from scratch. I've only been building rods for a couple of years . So that might be easier for you.
So I guess it depends on how much work you want to put in a Ugly stick?

Probably not, unless you just want to practice building on a not-so-expensive blank. Sounds like something I would do, but then again I'm not happy unless I have something to take apart...

If you want an Ugly Stick setup for conventional, I'd go and get one stock-built. JMHO
