The was a report two weeks ago of a 90+ lb cobia boated out of Hatteras. Another report I got is that last week one was caught in the nets locally inside the Bay. They're around and should not be much longer..
Thats good to hear. According to the water monitoring station on Seagull Pier the water temp is 63 and the salinity is around 17.6 so it's getting there. Won't be long now.....Wooooo Hooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait
have any of ya'll started cobia fishing yet, if not, when will you first try. i think i will wait until memorial day weekend, and give it a try. anyway good luck to everyone.
As a rule of thumb the first (man in the brown suit) is caught on this holiday weekend but they are in the bay now. A few have been caught in pound nets last week. All we need now is for the water temp to move into that magic zone. Anyone know exactly what that temp zone is? You can bet within a week or so I'll be drowning a few eels looking for a new picture for the gallery.
