Fished by the CBBT from about 3pm-10pm. Didn't get much at first except for some small sand perch, a whiting, and two small flounder. Went to the left side of the bridge around dusk and the fishing improved drastically. Croakers, spot, and whiting were biting almost every cast. Left them biting when we left. No big fish besides a small blue my brother got on a piece of crab.

P.S.: Talked to an older gentleman who knew a lot about fishing around this area. He told me that there is a rig out there that is just like a bottom rig, but it is made out of nylon and it has green and orange fluorescent spinners near the hooks. He said they sell them at Ocean's East and they work really well. Any idea what this rig is called?

Thanks for the report. Bear Paw makes flicker snelked hooks with fluorescent spinners...think I last saw them at BPS. Never tried them but I guess the color would draw attention to your bait.

When the hooks are dull you could remove the beads and spinners and reuse them on whatever hook you tie yourself.

If that was a tall guy with shaggy hair in his 60s, I fished with him since we 8 or 9, knows how to catch fish in a mud puddle. Did he tell you about catching flounder with slip bobbers and pink and green crappie bucktails?

Yep, that was the guy. He did tell me about all that. Super nice guy with so much knowledge. I might have to try some of his tricks.
