Got my pier pass, fishing license, trophy season striper permit, a half dozen eels, and hit the Cheatham Annex pier last night at about 8:30 pm. Fished the last part of the outgoing tide and about four hours of the incoming with a fishfinder rig and live eels. Managed one NICE striper...forgot my tape measurer, but based on my size 12 shoes, he was 2 1/2 of those, I'm thinking about 28"...nice and fat too. Bottom line is he was already bigger than any striper I caught last year...so good first trip.

Thanks! Went out there again last night...same times, conditions, rig, and bait...only had one good pull, but lost whatever was on the line before I could get it reeled in. Looking forward to next week when the keeper size limit for striper goes down to 20" again.

All,
It appears that Cheatham Annex pier is currently closed for fishing...at least it was when they kicked me off last night (after I'd gotten my lines in the water). I'm going to call out there today to see what's going on and how long it will be closed and will post an update this afternoon.

Please share an update jimrup85. I was planning on giving it a try myself tonight. Btw nice catch and thanks for releasing it back to fight another day
Talked to the base security folks today...the pier is closed to fishing while the ship is in and they don't know how long the ship will be there. There goes spring striper season. Can anyone else recommend a good location?
