I'm not sure what the post you found was, but I usually have a bigger loop in the wire at the hook and hang this loop on the leg of my spider weight to cast. This way, your weight and bait are together and do not helicopter during the cast. This makes it possible to cast a rig up to 8 or 10 feet long. Hope this helps.
Yeah, I read the one on castable shark riggs, but like I said it's from 1.5yrs ago. Just wondering if there have been any innovations since then. I did rig up some like the 2nd image, and will try them out this weekend.
