Thanks for sharing. B1 is my choice (current regs) for Coastal. I share the sentiment of letting the big girls go but all other options double the creel. The past few seasons I know of a few larger catches but all of my fish from the sand were 32 - 42" (heck almost every fish I had in the Bay seemed to fall inside that "Release only" slot). Having no other options that include 1 fish @ X" (or X" - Y") does not surprise me given the economic importance of this recreational fishery. The argument is always but this state is doing ____ so we should be able to as well and so goes the house of cards. I would consider B4 the next best option.

Looks like that poll was won by greed
Let's consider the source and the demographic that would routinely view that site and respond to the poll. I am certain there were more than a fair share of "For Hire" votes cast towards the options that came out ahead of the pack. On the the other hand with >150 anglers responding I sincerely hope it carries little weight in the long run. Sound SB management isn't rooted in opinion polls; legislate with an eye towards long term viability based on data with the greatest confidence levels.

See you on the sand sometime next year Kracka :fishing:

That is true too but I've heard many complain about the 1 fish laws. DE and Nj really need to tighten up too.

Next year??? Season isn't over yet! My buddy had a keeper flounder on a chunk in DE surf while lookin for stripes.

That pole seems to be a joke. There is no way in a sane world that regulations will be changed do to a poll of fisherman who for the most part want to keep the most/largest fish possible. If regulations are going to be set this way with no input from the scientific community than I think it is time to find a new hobby as the fish would not stand a chance.

Ah the rallying cry of the unwed fisherman (Soon to be hitched in your case) :D . My season is indubitably over. Before marriage and kids I would be in Florida right about now but the current chapter I'm reading in the book of life is filled with Christmas trees, train gardens, and visits to the head elf. There is a season for everything; lord willing, and with proper stewardship of our natural resources, the fish will be there when I move to the next chapter.

As for the grumblings of the >1 fish group, you make a salient point. Politics prevail and it wouldn't be the first time the powers that be ignored the data and scientifically based recommendations for short term gains. Gulf Red Snapper Management comes to mind.
