CALO this SAT through the following Sunday

Ended up near ramp 33, there is a nice cut right here. Slow today, caught a ray and one nice whiting, just feeding them now. Yesterday got 2 black drum, 4 big whiting, a puffer, couple spot, and my greenhorn landed his first ever surf catch... a decent little stingray.

Fished the point for a couple hrs... nothing but rays. Headed toward the inlet just past the 2nd ramp. Picked up this slot red.

8nbait wouldn't hold (plow or sputnik) so went light tackle on bayside. No fish, but muscles couldn't get away 😉

Forgot to post this one from the island... my greenhorn caught his first sheepshead dropping bits of shrimp down by the pilings of the lighthouse dock. Glad it was minimum length to keep because it took the hook deep, so it went in the cooler. I cast a mullet soft plastic around that area and picked up some small blues on light tackle.

We broke camp Saturday and stayed in a cabin that night so we could hit the 8am ferry back...

Wife made me finish off my small batch Willit Copper Pot so she could fill it with little shells our last night...
Wrapped it up with a final beach fire and a nice cigar Sat night, drove all day yesterday. Stopped at JR's and stocked up on some sticks for the humidor and had a great sit down meal with the whole family. Wife, 4 kids, two significant others, grandson and my mom were all on this trip. We got home at 11:45 last night
Brought home half a 5 gallon bucket of fresh muscles I dug right before dark. Iced them down and drove them back to Ohio. Tonight I'll have that Red Drum blackened and a plate of muscles for my appetizer to extend the beach life one xtra day.
