Does anyone still fish there? Curious...used to catch monster cats below the damn and huge crappie, trout and walleye. Stopped going when people trashed the area up...

I heard they are working on the dam. Fishing areas may be closed.

I fish above it. Below is a managed trout area fly rods only I think.
Ride that river in a canoe to Rocky Gorge.
It is a fun ride, and there are some deep holes that hold big fish.

An interesting spot, but very tiny though, it's almost a one person spot. On my last few outings several years ago I saw some guys catching+keeping big trout on earthworms, all within the flyfishing C&R designated area (downstream, past the marker post).
The park officer who was working at that time near the park gate (less than a 100 yards from these guys) didn't seem to be interested in checking them out.
Not her jurisdiction, she said.
The following year some very serious criminal took place very close to that area, and all that together crossed it off my fishing map, haven't been there since.
Too creepy man. After I've read what police found there, I wouldn't touch any fish from below the dam, no thanks.
