Is there a season when bluefish can be caught in the mid to upper bay? The regulations said bluefish fishing is open year round but I wanted to know what type of season fish they are? Also, when do they big ones come if at all to spawn? Croakers are fun to catch and all but I want something big like 20"+ to reel in. Big stripers are hard to come by as of late from a shore fishing standpoint :D

WW,
From what I understand the bluefish should be moving in the middle bay when the water temperatures are consistently in the mid 70's. THe best time to catch the bluefish is supposed to be in the early morning. The other board members should have much more info but that is what I am going on write now.

It's been pretty H-O-T lately and I just wanted to know when the fishing will be heating up as well? Any fishing pros know how the bluefish season starts up and ends in the bay? I'm hunting for those 30"ers for some heavy action :D
