Went fishing upper-bay a few days ago. The trip stood out because:
1) I drank a lot of beer
2) I was the only white guy
3) There were lots of blues.
I don't know why I noticed being the only white guy, but just like bluefish, maybe we're being phased out to make way for other fish.
The blues were good sized 14-18 inches and full of beans. Spot were all over too. Lots of blues caught. No Rockfish until the next morning.
I went back two days later and NADA. Not sure what happened, DNR must have banned them from the area or something. Stupid DNR.....those commie so-and-so's.
Don't forget to de-barb AND de-snell your hooks.
To de-barb, please pinch the barb and then move your pliers back and forth until the barb is all the way gone. De-snelling helps to reduce fish mortality as well and only takes a second. Just grab the hook with pliers and bend it real quick. Not hard at all, let's protect our fish.
