There have been some big whiting caught on Oak Island's Ocean Crest Pier in between the gill nets being set up. Just down the street is Yaupon Pier, but they don't set up their nets down there, why not? I don't know but I was wondering if this happens to you guys in the OBX?

There not after spots, sea mullet are very valueable to those guys an are there target species. The way i look at it is they have boats with fish finders, when i fish around them at least i know i"m in the right area. :fishing:

I saw them setting nets several different times in the past month down near yaupon pier as well.

I'd rather them net out there in the surf than back in the creeks.
