Just Curious,

My buddy and I were talking about this a while ago. I see enough pictures of very large drum on scales and they are not in TX. I know there is a slot limit and you can't keep these fish.

Is it possible that they just recently made the new size limits and these are older pictures?

Just a question from a Yankee trying to fit in around these parts of the woods.

The slot limits are for Channel Bass (Red Drum), 18"-26", not their ugly cousins the Black Drum. But that's Virginia not Carolina, I'm not sure what the regs are there.

"The keeping limits for NC is 18"-27" for red drum."

to clarify, that's one fish in the above mentioned slot limit, in NC.

In VA, you're allowed 5, which is way too many IMHO.

As of last year, in VA, you could keep one over 27. Someone please confirm this, but I understand you are no longer allowed to keep one over the slot....which I'm very happy with, btw!

You could be looking at older photos...

Cool! Thanks Dog....howsabout a hatteras report?
I think 3 fish is reasonable. It's still more than I would personally take in a day. But that's me.

DD,whatta ya mean about the tag system? Is it the one old drum a year per person thing?
